Glasgow-based creative agency MadeBrave and neighbouring digital tech company Cloud Cover IT have both doubled their office space amid growing demand for their services.
The two companies now account for the lion’s share of The Albus, the Eastgate office development owned by the Clyde Gateway regeneration partnership. Their expansion takes The Albus to 100 per cent occupancy.
Andrew Dobbie, founder and chief executive of MadeBrave, said the agency is on course to increase turnover to £3.5 million during the current financial year to April. With significant new business coming in from two major international clients, that figure is expected to rise to £4.3m in the following 12 months.

MadeBrave has doubled the size of its space to 6,556sq ft, with capacity for more than 50 members of staff. It currently employs 39 people in Glasgow and a further nine in Edinburgh following the 2018 acquisition of content production company Campfire.
“I’m a big believer in the idea that the space you work in has a profound effect on inspiration, creativity, and how you feel in general, so we wanted to create a new space that would reflect our culture and provide an amazing environment for our team,” Mr Dobbie said.
Cloud Cover IT, set up in 2012 by Lance Gauld, provides infrastructure support and software development services to domestic and overseas clients.

It has expanded from 2,300sq ft to more than 5,400sq ft, which will allow the firm to increase its headcount from 31 to a projected 40 by the end of this year. Mr Gauld said 2019 was a “transformative” year for the business.
“We’ve had a positive start to 2020 too, welcoming new clients from Africa, the USA and the Middle East, as well as continuing to help many local companies with their IT infrastructure. We have also appointed six new staff members, including two graduates, to bolster our growth and support young, local talent,” he added.
Ian Manson, chief executive of Clyde Gateway, said it was great to see both firms demonstrate their commitment to the area. It’s been a thrill to watch both MadeBrave, our first tenants at The Albus, and now Cloud Cover IT take such bold steps to successfully grow their business and expand their talent,” he said.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
